The Theta Room
As we meditate, brainwave activity slows down and we move from the accelerated frequencies of Beta, to the more decelerated and balanced frequencies of Alpha, Theta, and Delta. This week, we will focus on the Theta range of brainwave activity and see how it can be used as a tool in a holistic lifestyle.
The Theta frequency range falls within the span of 3.5 - 7 Hz. Accessing this state provides a medium-level meditation experience that supports holistic states of awareness. Theta is considered to be the range in which creative inspiration and insight is more easily accessible.
An important aspect of Theta is its relationship with the subconscious mind. In this respect, accessing Theta could be described as opening the doorway to the subconscious. Thus, the "Theta doorway" can be an excellent avenue for rescripting, reshaping, and releasing old beliefs and thought patterns.
Here is an exercise that uses the benefits of the state of being that is associated with Theta brainwaves...
Put on a Synchronicity soundtrack in the Theta range (a CD from The Sounds of Source Series is ideal or perhaps the CD that accompanies The Synchronicity Experience - book and CD set). Take a few moments to relax in a meditative position, become aware of your breathing, and allow yourself to move deeper into your internal world. Go deeper by visualizing yourself walking down a stairway. With each step, affirm you are moving deeper and deeper within. Step after step, you are descending into a profound meditative state.
After five or ten minutes, visualize that a door has presented itself in front of you. Through this door awaits a room that you sense is full of potential and possibilities. You open the door, enter the room, and instantly feel warmth and peace. The room is filled with light, wonderful aromas, spectacular furniture. You intuitively feel that great power and creativity is possible within this space. You take a seat and set an intention to make use of the power that is available.
Perhaps, for example, you have a desire to release something from the past, or maybe you wish to receive greater clarity and insight about your life. Consider that everything is possible in your "Theta Room". All you have to do is focus and ask and it will come!
Spend as long as you need in this room, and once you feel ready, walk back to the door. Be thankful for the special time and space you have created and proceed to walk back up the steps. With each step, become more alert and present.
You can visit your Theta Room anytime you like. It waits for you as a space in which you can create, gain insight, increase balance, build power, and experience greater freedom.
