New images of the Divine Feminine from across a variety of cultures and times will soon be installed along the Sanctuary’s contemplative walking paths. Encased in glass display frames, these beautiful images exemplify the understanding expressed by the Blessed Mother in Her apparitional manifestation, that She is “The One in the Many”… the embodiment of every form of the Divine Feminine and yet, is beyond them all. As it was in the sanctuary of his illustrious teacher, Paramahansa Muktananda, Master Charles is recreating here at Synchronicity Sanctuary, a classical element within the spiritual lifestyle such that everywhere one looks, there is an empowering reminder of Sourceful reality and the divinity of life itself.

Synchronicity Sanctuary hosted an Open House Weekend concurrent with "It’s Time for a New God - The Weekend Retreat" from April 4 - 6, 2008. On Friday evening, April 4th, Master Charles joined the assembled guests and community members for the monthly meditation at the Blessed Mother public apparition site located in the Shrine of the Heart at the center of the Sanctuary.

On the following evening, speaking to an audience that filled the Environment, Master Charles presented his monthly Open House dialogue prior to which he chooses a number of quotations at random from among a large collection that he keeps in a shoebox… thus, he playfully refers to these monthly talks as “shoebox dialogues”.

Master Charles visited Nashville, TN from April 19th - 23rd. This was his second visit in the last six months and was marked by his attendance at the acclaimed Nashville Film Festival for two screenings of the documentary film "The Spiritual Revolution” which features him along with a number of other spiritual teachers, medical doctors and researchers. Both screenings were very well attended and along with producer / director Alan Swyer, Master Charles answered questions from the audience following each showing. In addition, Master Charles presented an evening dialogue and meditation at the newly opened Devi Clinic, a healing and yoga center jointly owned by Synchronicity Certified Teachers Alicia Anderson and Rudrani Devi. Many local Synchronicity Associates were in attendance on this occasion.

Recently, a new statue of the Blessed Mother was installed at the Blessed Mother Public Apparition Site in the Shrine of the Heart at the center of Synchronicity Sanctuary. The new statue was a year in the making and was sculpted by artisans in Peru. It is nearly ten feet in height and is modeled on the large painting of the Blessed Mother by Russian born artist Alexander Anufriev that hangs in the Sanctuary Atrium. The new statue reflects Master Charles’ visionary experience of the Blessed Mother as an ecstatic expression of “The One in the Many”, a term She has often used to describe Herself.

During Master Charles' recent visit to London, he was interviewed by the Holistic TV Channel, an internet broadband television network whose mission is to promote conscious holistic topics and programs to be viewed on-line, anytime and anywhere in the world.  The interview was conducted and filmed by two very loving and conscious people, Nicola Hague and Robert Armstrong, who met with Master Charles for over an hour.  In a very relaxed and informal interview, Master Charles shares his experience on a number of topics ranging from his childhood, to the Synchronicity Experience, to the Blessed Mother Apparition and more.

We have recently concluded Master Charles’ Birthday Stillpointe Retreat, held March 17 - 23, 2008 at the Sanctuary Retreat Center.  This retreat was a very special one not only because it marked Master Charles’ 63rd Birthday celebration, but also included a week-long yagna, a comprehensive Vedic / Tantric ritual of invocation and empowerment focused on the Divine Feminine.  Highly trained and experienced Brahmin priests conducted the yagna in two sessions per day of three to four hours each.

In addition, on Friday evening of the retreat, Master Charles presented The Sounds of Source live, in which he chanted portions of the Vedic / Tantric scriptures known as The 1,000 Names of the Divine as Mother, accompanying himself on the veena, a traditional Indian stringed instrument.  It was a rare and sacred occasion that delivered all gathered to the most sublime states of holistic fulfillment.   

As the week concluded, many retreatants commented that this was the most impactful week-long retreat experience they ever had. 

Master Charles’ Birthday Stillpointe Retreat featured a week-long yagna is a comprehensive Vedic / Tantric ritual of invocation and empowerment.  This particular yagna was focused on the Divine Feminine in keeping with Master Charles’ life-long association with the Blessed Mother and Her apparitional manifestation within the Shrine of the Heart at Synchronicity Sanctuary.

Retreatants had several opportunities daily to sit at the specially constructed yagna site and enjoy the sacred energetic experience generated by the chanting of mantras and offering of specific materials into the yagna fire, which was kept burning 24 / 7 throughout the week.  Each day, Master Charles was in attendance, blessing and overseeing the ritual. 

The yagna’s conclusion at midday on Saturday, March 22nd was marked by great celebration and along with Master Charles, everyone shared in the miraculous collective empowerment created over the course of the week.

On Sunday, February 24th, Master Charles and his supporting staff returned to the Virginia Sanctuary after nearly six weeks touring India and London.  The purpose of this journey was multi-faceted and included extensive interaction between Master Charles and some of the most respected spiritual leaders of India as well as the presentation of Synchronicity Programs to the public in India and London. 

Additionally, the tour afforded an invaluable opportunity for Master Charles to connect with key people in the areas of media, publishing and the arts for the creation of future collaborative programs and projects.  This will open new possibilities for the context of Modern Spirituality that Master Charles has evolved.  In all, the tour was an unqualified success that has inspired widespread interest in the Synchronicity Experience. 

Construction of the Sanctuary’s new Yagna Pavilion is nearly complete as Master Charles’ Birthday Stillpointe Retreat approaches.  The pavilion is located just adjacent to the Blessed Mother Public Apparition Site in the Shrine of the Heart and includes an authentic fire pit constructed according to ancient tradition around which special Vedic / Tantric rituals of invocation and empowerment will be performed on an ongoing basis, starting with the March Stillpointe Retreat. 

One of the most sacred expressions of the Vedic / Tantric Tradition is the yagna, a ritual of invocation and empowerment that accesses the subtle dimensions of Consciousness, creating balance and wholeness on a collective, environmental level.  Yagnas are highly specialized rituals that are precisely performed by those trained since early childhood in the orthodox traditions that are at their basis.  There are many forms of yagnas, including those that have the invocation of the Divine Feminine as their focus, but all share the primary intention in creating balance and wholeness.

In early January 2008, Synchronicity Teacher Helen Connolly hosted an evening introduction and full day seminar on the Synchronicity Experience with Alan Scherr and Martin Thambert. The theme for the program was "Resolution 2008 - Begin the New Year with Balance and Wholeness". Both events were very empowering for the participants, especially the practical approach to modern spirituality that was emphasized. The evening event included a talk about who and what Synchronicity is about as well as a meditation session followed by Q&A. In the full day program, more in-depth focus was placed on the Synchronicity Holistic Model of Reality, Synchronicity Holistic Lifestyle and role of the Master, along with integrative Qi Gong and several meditation sessions. There were question and answer sessions throughout the day.

The Masters Empowerment Retreat, Synchronicity Sanctuary’s final retreat for 2007, was held from December 29th - January 1st, 2008.  Guests from all over the world attended this retreat which featured Stillpointe Meditation Sessions every evening along with additional daytime meetings with Master Charles in which participants were given the opportunity to receive his Sourceful perspective on their challenges.  One of the highlights of the retreat was a Blessed Mother meditation and message with Master Charles on New Years Eve Day.  You can read the Blessed Mother’s New Years message by clicking here.   

When you share the gift of wholeness, you receive the same. When you multiply that gift of sharing, the receiving is magnified to a profound degree. This is the new evolutionary paradigm within the world of Synchronicity. The Spiritual Revolution

The Spiritual Revolution, a full-length documentary film featuring Master Charles has been accepted into the Nashville Film Festival. Produced and directed by Los Angeles filmmaker Alan Swyer, The Spiritual Revolution chronicles the growth of a new and vital form of spirituality which embraces both eastern and western traditions and yet transcends them both. The film also includes interviews with many well-known spiritual teachers, medical doctors and researchers who are validating the balancing effects of meditation as well as the holistic model of reality which is its basis. In conjunction with the showing of the film, Master Charles will appear at the Nashville Film Festival in a panel forum as well as presenting a public program on High-Tech Meditation on the evening of April 22nd at the Ford Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

 

Master Charles Hosted by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Nityananda at Shanti Mandir

From October 18th - 22nd, Master Charles was invited to take part in a celebration marking the 100th birthday and 25th anniversary of the passing of his teacher, Paramahansa Muktananda. The event took place in Walden, New York at Shanti Mandir, the ashram (spiritual sanctuary), of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Nityananda. In attendance were six Mahamandaleshwars (literally ‘Lord of the Great Circle’ - a highly honored Vedic / Hindu spiritual title).

His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Swami Nityananda Saraswati Maharaj welcomes Master Charles and the Mahamandaleshwars.

The celebration included traditional rituals, ceremonies and chanting as well as spiritual discourses on topics within the Vedic / Tantric philosophical model. Long-term disciples and associates of Muktananda also shared personal stories of their time with him. Master Charles, whose monastic name is His Holiness Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, joined the Mahamandalashwars in giving Darshan to the participants. For a western Spiritual Master to be invited to participate on an equal basis with Mahamandaleshwars is virtually unheard of and represents a profound validation of Master Charles’ enlightening presence and authentic spiritual mastery. In addition, Master Charles was invited to join the Mahamandaleshwars for programs in India in January and February, 2008.

Future plans include the possibility of holding a similar event at Synchronicity Sanctuary.

New Construction

Honoring the Blessed Mother’s theme of “Diversity in Unity”, Synchronicity Sanctuary has undertaken construction of a site designed for performance of traditional ceremonies of gratitude and empowerment known as “yagnas” in the Great Wisdom Traditions of the East. The yagna site is located in the center of the Sanctuary within the Shrine of the Heart just below the Blessed Mother public apparition site. These beautiful and empowering ceremonies will be performed on a regular basis at the Sanctuary and especially during weeklong and weekend retreats and programs. Guests will be invited to attend the yagnas and will also have the opportunity to participate as sponsors, a powerful investment in positive force and evolutionary upliftment. Completion is expected in Spring, 2008.

The Synchronicity Teleconference Series

The Synchronicity Teleconference Series has continued to be a great success among participants world-wide. Recently, a two evening teleseminar was presented by Master Charles on the theme: “Being the New God Whose Time has Come”. It included dialogue as well as direct meditative experience along with a special focus for the twenty-four hours between the first and second evening. Participants were literally “blown away” by the experience with a significant number of them reporting subtle-dimensional breakthroughs and new insights, once again demonstrating the profound power of Master Charles' enlightening presence via this technological medium.

Pond Gazebo

We have completed the construction of a gazebo at the end of a wooden pier extending onto our pond.  This simple and elegant structure will accommodate  those who wish to sit in contemplative / meditative silence surrounded by the water. 

New Organizational Name for Synchronicity

Synchronicity’s organizational name has been updated to Synchronicity Foundation for Modern Spirituality.  SFMS is now the parent organization that encompasses the Sanctuary Retreat Center, Stillpointe Monastery and the Shrine of the Heart.  Master Charles felt that it was appropriate at this time to update Synchronicity’s formal organizational structure to reflect its ongoing evolution. 

Two Part Teleconference Series with Master Charles

On Friday and Saturday evening, September 28th and 29th, Master Charles delivered Synchronicity’s first two-part teleconference series on the theme: Being the New God Whose Time Has Come.  Including both advanced dialogue and meditative empowerment, this teleconference series provided participants world-wide with a comprehensive perspective on this evolving theme within the world of Synchronicity.  Many commented that the experience bridged time and distance and made them feel as if they were sitting in Master Charles’ enlightening presence.  A number of teleconference participants also reported miraculous experiences of the Blessed Mother.  In all, the holistic power of authentic Mastership was once again demonstrated to be universal and available to anyone anytime.

Interfaith Event for International Day of Peace

In collaboration with the local chapter of United Religions Initiative (URI), an international interfaith organization, Synchronicity Foundation for Modern Spirituality co-sponsored an event in Charlottesville celebrating the International Day of Peace, a United Nations mandated day each year on September 21st that endeavors to promote one day of total cessation of conflict on a global scale.  The event featured the showing of a documentary film “Peace One Day”, the story of one individual’s remarkable journey in making this day a reality. 

 

Teacher Certification Training 2007

Synchronicity Foundation for Modern Spirituality held its annual Teacher Certification Training from Sept. 16th - 23rd, 2007.  Eight participants from the U.S., Canada and England took part in this intensive week-long course that trains and qualifies Synchronicity Associates to present introductory and advanced programs on Synchronicity High-Tech Meditation and Holistic Lifestyle.  This training was a most powerful experience for all participants. 

Master Charles delivered a brilliant and inspiring closing dialogue in which he highlighted the most important element of conscious teaching.  He emphasized that rather than simply adding new information, the truthful intention in teaching is to “draw out” what is already inherent in the awareness of the individual.  He also focused on the teachers’ state of being rather than their words as being the source of authentic power in awakening the listener. Since its inception in 2000, more than forty people have graduated from this training. 

New Construction Projects

A number of exciting new construction projects are underway at the Sanctuary.  Just below the Blessed Mother Public Apparition site, a Yagna pavilion is being created to accommodate traditional ceremonies of empowerment and acknowledgment, particularly of the Blessed Mother in Her various forms as the One in the Many.  The word “Yagna” means ritual or ceremonial performance and is associated with the Vedic / Tantric tradition of India. Yagna is a form of empowerment whose influence reaches far beyond the individual to include the environment and the collective consciousness that dwells within it.  When complete, there will be such ceremonies performed on an ongoing basis to maintain and evolve the holistic power of the Sanctuary and
all who are connected with us.

Commitment Ceremony

The ceremony was conducted by Master Charles and witnessed by family, guests, and members of the Synchronicity Monastic and Secular Communities. To begin the ceremony, Maria’s daughter, Danielle sang a beautiful a cappella rendition of Fools Rush In.

Master Charles then shared his perspective on the meaning and value of conscious relationship, based on the time-honored spiritual principle expressed in the truthful statement: “There is only One.” After asking Maria and David for their agreement to live together consciously, Master Charles blessed them and wished them a blissful and fulfilling relationship.

Following the ceremony, a champagne toast and buffet reception was held in the Fellowship Hall. In all, Maria and David’s commitment ceremony was a joyous occasion shared in the spirit of community in Master Charles’ empowering presence… a rare and auspicious beginning for a conscious relationship.

On July 28, 2007, an historic teleconference was held in celebration of Guru Purnima, the traditional Vedic / Tantric day of the year on which the Spiritual Master is honored and revered.  Spanning the globe from across the USA to Europe, India, and Australia were participants from the communities of Master Charles (Synchronicity Foundation for Modern Spirituality), and Her Holiness Sai Maa (Humanity in Unity). 

The teleconference theme was The Master Disciple Relationship, with each Guru giving an inspiring discourse on the value of this most precious opportunity for holistic empowerment or divine communion.  From the Synchronicity Sanctuary in Virginia, Master Charles spoke lovingly of his relationship with his Guru, Paramahansa Muktananda, one of the most acknowledged eastern mystics of the modern era.  He also related several classical stories that illustrated the role and value of the Guru:

On the evening of July 29th, 2007, the Synchronicity Community celebrated Guru Purnima with traditional ceremonies of acknowledgement and honoring of Master Charles.  Following the conclusion of the formal ceremonies, Master Charles was garlanded with flowers and a special mala (necklace), of rare Rudraksha beads from India that are traditionally worn by those whose primary focus is spiritual empowerment and human mastery. 

Master Charles then greeted each participant individually followed by an inspiring discourse in which he shared a number of intimate stories from his days with his Guru, Paramahansa Muktananda.  A beautiful chant of a Divine Feminine prayer and meditation concluded a memorable evening for all.

On May 12th, 2007, WCAV-TV, a major Charlottesville television station and CBS / Fox News affiliate, filmed the monthly meditation with Master Charles at the Blessed Mother Apparition site and aired the broadcast later that week on the 11:00pm news. Synchronicity’s Spring Mastery Retreat was held May 20th – 27th, 2007 at the Sanctuary Retreat Center, featuring Master Charles dialoguing on the theme: Celebrating Divine Life. In attendance were many first-time retreat participants from all over the world. The beautiful spring weather combined with the Sanctuary’s ethereal vibration of holistic empowerment to create a heavenly environment in which to explore the subtlest dimensions of meditative experience and spiritual discourse.

Master Charles was also formally introduced to the assembly and acknowledged by Her Holiness Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi. Thereafter, Master Charles and Sai Maa spent many hours late into the night and early morning hours, discussing the ways and means in which they and their two organizations might collaborate and support each other in their common vision of a world restored to balance and spiritual value.

Also, Master Charles was invited to address an assembly of all the Australian participants along with Sai Maa’s “Master Teachers”, those who she has designated as primary representatives of her teachings to the world. The response was nothing less than heart-warming and deeply transformative. All were delighted to meet the Modern Mystic and enjoy his palpable energetic transmission.

After the conclusion of the Vail intensive, Master Charles traveled with Sai Maa through the Rocky Mountains to her ashram in Crestone, where their collaborative dialogue continued along with opportunities for Master Charles to meet with members of her monastic and secular communities. In the high desert of Colorado, with the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range as a backdrop, the secluded and rugged beauty of the natural environment combined with the intoxicating energy of two Spiritual Masters to create a fulfilling and holistic experience.

Most impressive was the heart-felt welcoming, acknowledgment, and honoring that Master Charles received from all and everyone and the openness to his modern, technological approach to spirituality with Contemporary Meditation as the means. Looking ahead, ongoing collaborations are being planned as if to demonstrate to the world what it could mean to bring balance to the relative polarities… with the human representation of the Divine Masculine and Feminine… two Spiritual Masters… sharing their combined wisdom… as a unity in diversity.

After showing her the Blessed Mother painting, Master Charles then welcomed Sai Maa into the Environment, where the assembled were invited to come forward individually to greet them both. The mutual honoring and deep love that flowed between Mataji and Master Charles literally filled the hall with divine light and the assembled disciples were gifted with a most uplifting and empowering experience. Sai Maa then spoke to the group for a short time and led a beautiful Vedic chant joined by Master Charles.

After the two Spiritual Masters bid farewell to the assembly to spend time privately discussing plans for future collaborations, Her disciples were hosted by the Synchronicity Community for a sumptuous luncheon and tour of the Sanctuary Retreat Center. Many from both communities commented that the visit felt more like a “homecoming” than merely getting acquainted. Without a doubt, there was an immediate sense of heartfelt welcoming and the joyful recognition that all are brothers and sisters in the spiritual journey, sharing in the greatest fortune possible for a human being… a devoted and steadfast commitment to a true Spiritual Master.

As part of the tour, an overview of the Synchronicity Holistic Lifestyle Model, as created by Master Charles, was presented to the Sai Maa Community by Synchronicity teachers, including a short session of Synchronicity Contemporary HighTech Meditation. It was a blissful experience of meditative awareness in which many were reluctant to remove their headphones at the conclusion!

From there, the tour culminated with a visit to the Pavilion (Blessed Mother Apparition site), wherein the combined communities assembled together for a meditation in the sacred presence of the Blessed Mother, whose apparitional manifestation continues on a daily basis. Simultaneously, Sai Maa and Master Charles communed with the Blessed Mother in Her private apparition site, The Grotto, adjacent to the Pavilion. As the assembled disciples’ meditation was ending, all were gifted with the vision of the radiant Masters joyfully emerging from the Grotto… a most auspicious conclusion to an empowering communion of two great spiritual luminaries and their disciples.

On April 18th, 2007, Master Charles welcomed Tibetan Buddhist Spiritual Master Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche for a visit to the Sanctuary. Tenzin Rinpoche is a lineage holder of the Bön Dzogchen Tradition and is a widely traveled and respected scholar and teacher.

A former Rockefeller Fellowship faculty member at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Rinpoche was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities grant for research on the Bön Tradition and has published a number of books. Rinpoche currently resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he has established Ligmincha Institute and Serenity Ridge Retreat Center located within a short distance from Synchronicity Sanctuary.

In their nearly two hour meeting, Master Charles offered a concise overview of the Synchronicity Experience, the contemporization of the ancient wisdom of the Tantra and in particular, Kashmir Shaivism, the spiritual tradition of his illustrious teacher, Muktananda. He also gave Rinpoche an introduction to the Blessed Mother Apparition and how Her public manifestation has made the Sanctuary a place of pilgrimage.

In their ensuing discussion, many questions were addressed, connections acknowledged from both sides, and the sense of mutual respect and fellowship was pervasive. In all, the meeting of these two Spiritual Masters was a most auspicious and timely event as we continue to witness the unfolding miracle of the Blessed Mother Apparition and Her consistent emphasis on the One in the Many… unity in diversity… and the truth of our Oneness as a demonstration of a conscious humanity.
