As a young man, he was guided to travel to India where he met his primary teacher, the renowned mystic, Paramahansa Muktananda. In twelve years spent with his teacher, Master Charles fully actualized his spiritual awakening and was initiated as a monk within the Vedic / Tantric tradition. Before his death, Muktananda directed Master Charles to modernize and westernize the orthodox teachings that he imparted so that they would be relevant and accessible to a western audience.
